Delicious Kale Chips
Yes it’s true! Delicious chips made from a vegetable. Surprisingly this little leafy beauty crisps up to make the most wonderful chips. I have talked about my love for kale and its health benefits here. These delicious kale chips make a perfect accompaniment to homemade hamburgers, pizza or a side with steak and roasted vegetables. Whenever we have homemade burgers or pizza, you will always find these chips atop the table!
I have a few different flavour combinations that I make regularly. They are both highly moreish and while they sound a bit strange (I was a bit hesitant at first also), the end result is so lip-smackingly delicious, I haven’t looked back or changed a thing.
Crispy Kale chips with Soy and Smoked Paprika
1 bunch of kale, washed and dried with the leaves removed from the stalks
1 Tbspn soy sauce or tamari (gluten-free if needed)
1 Tbspn good quality olive oil
1 tsp of smoked paprika
Freshly ground black pepper
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C and line a large flat tray with baking paper.
Spread the kale even on the prepared tray and drizzle over the soy, olive oil, paprika and black pepper.
Using your hands combine everything together ensuring the kale remains spread out.
Bake for 15 minutes or until the kale is crispy but not burnt.
